Dr. Tere Hernandez

Dr. Tere Hernandez began her education in her native Puerto Rico, where her passion for animal care was born at age 14 as a volunteer assistant in a clinic in San Juan. Following formal university training in Puerto Rico, she enrolled at Iowa State in 1998 to complete her undergraduate studies. In 2004, she earned her DVM from Kansas State University. After graduation, Tere practiced in Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania before taking an opportunity in Dublin, Virginia. Her family brought her back to the Lehigh Valley where she practiced in Macungie for the next 12 years.

After a necessary 2 year break while she worked part-time at Adamstown Veterinary Hospital, Tere is thrilled to be back in the Lehigh Valley, where her heart is. All her clients throughout the years know how honesty and integrity are essential traits to Tere.

Her compassion and care have made her a sought-after veterinarian in the area. Her interests include dermatology, analgesia (pain management), anesthesia, and low-stress handling/Fear Free pet visits.

Tere and her wife Nancy live in the Lehigh Valley with their daughters, Natalie and Nadia; their two demanding mutts, Lily and Minerva, and the superior domestic short-haired kitties Ron and Hermione.

“Words can not express how much I have missed you, my Lehigh Valley patients and clients. I feel reinvigorated and excited to reunite with all of you. Please know that you are at the center of this new professional adventure. I can not wait to see and share the new hospital with you and your four legged kids!”
