Pet Diagnostics
West Lehigh Veterinary Care (WLVC) has partnered with Idexx Laboratories to provide comprehensive in-hospital testing such as CBC, chemistry panels, thyroid levels, viral testing, tick borne disease testing, urinalysis and more. Other, more specific or non-urgent testing is also available, with results usually ready in 1-2 days depending on the test requested. Some tests, such as cultures and biopsies, take 7-10 days.
We also have two radiology suites to better serve our outpatient appointments and our surgical patients. X-rays are useful to evaluate chest, lungs, bones and the abdominal cavity in cases of foreign body ingestion and masses.
WLVC also provides ultrasound imaging performed by Dr. Mosebey. This advanced diagnostic modality is useful when evaluating soft tissues and structures such as the bladder, spleen, liver, intestines, pancreas, and lymph nodes. Ultrasounds are also instrumental in diagnosing pyometra (infection of the uterus), as well as tumors or masses.
Other diagnostics include intraocular pressure with Tonopen, ECG, pulse oximetry, and blood pressure.
